During the excursion Expedition Budatín – Textile we got acquainted with the history of textile production and traditional clothing. The programme included a visit to Budatín Castle, where participants explored its premises, including the main tower, and learned about its rich history.
Creative activities allowed participants to try out the basics of weaving and understand how difficult it used to be to make clothes.
Traditional costumes reminded us that once upon a time, clothing was exceptional and often made to measure, with only a few people in each family owning them. Unlike today, when there are clothes shops on every corner and clothes are in abundance, costumes had their own value and special meaning. Have you ever thought about where your favourite piece of clothing came from and how long it took to make?
