IQ Olympiad is for all pupils 5. – 9. year of primary school, resp. Prima to quarts of eight-year grammar schools. It is a progressive competition that takes place in three rounds (school on-line, regional semi-finals, national finals). It does not test “learned” knowledge, but especially the ability to reason logically. It is aimed at finding intellectually gifted children and is set up as a set of logic problems. Our two pupils, winners of the school round, Matej Zajac (VII.SVB) and Richard Pleško (VIII.EA) participated in the regional round in Banská Bystrica. They measured their knowledge with 78 pupils from other schools in Central Slovakia. Both of our pupils were very successful. Matej got 28th place and Richard got 10th place in the competition. We will keep our fingers crossed for Riša in the national round, which will take place at Zvolen Castle. Congratulations to both boys on a great performance.
