On 31.01. 2024 VIII.EB pupils visited the New Synagogue in Žilina as part of VYV. An artistic, educational program: With Their Own Eyes, which they participated in, allowed them to experience new ways of perceiving and thinking, to seek and discover new experiences.
The programme also introduces the current exhibition “Perceiving White”, which is the result of a collaboration between the artist Monika Pascoe Mikyšková and children with hearing and visual impairments. The artist had the opportunity to discover undiscovered planes of knowledge of the world during her meetings at a boarding school for deaf-blind children. She slowed down and looked at the world in a new way. The art programme invites a similar view of creation and so our task was to bring the colours to life, not through our eyes, but to create images by touch.
