On Tuesday 23.10.2023 we went to Orava with our eighth and ninth graders in the footsteps of two important representatives of Slovak literary realism, P. O. Hviezdoslav and M. Kukučín. Gradually we visited the articular church in Leštiny, the P. O. Hviezdoslav Museum in Dolný Kubín, the birthplace of M. Kukučín in Jasenová and finally the majestic Orava Castle. We saw interesting expositions accompanied by excellent interpretation, from which we learned much more about the life of both authors than from books… Our thanks for this experiential learning go not only to the excellent lecturers, but also to Mrs. representative Mgr. Tvrdej, who organized the whole excursion.
