Crafts of our ancestors

December is not only the time for decorating Christmas trees and baking gingerbread. For the seventh graders, it is also the time to present their three months of work. In our Slovak language lessons we were transported back in time to the 17th-18th centuries to see how our ancestors lived. First we had to read a lot of information. We visited the library, we talked to our grandparents. We sorted out all the knowledge, wrote a script, looked for props, period objects and clothes. We made presentations and finally we presented the results of our work in front of our parents and classmates. We suffered from stage fright, and sometimes our memory failed us. Thank you all for your help and support. The audience appreciated our efforts with applause, we learned a lot of new things, and most importantly, we found out that if we prepare properly, we can handle even more difficult challenges.
